The lysosome
- The
lysosome is the digester of the Eukaryotic cell
- Contains
a mixture of digestive enzymes called lytic enzymes and they are very acidic
- They
are made by the endoplasmic recticulm and Golgi complex
- They
supply enzymes that destroy old or surplus organelles, they also destroy
whole cells and tissues
- They
are small vesicles they often are dark, spherical bodies in the
cytoplasm
Using water, enzymes
in the lysosome break up food molecules
